  • Obvious cheater

    I just played against someone on xbox “sensei xion” this dude is clearly cheating his ass off.

    He has 98 total games and 90 wins. That is a 93.75% winrate. And scrolling through his history the only ones he actually loses are games that he quits

    The other thing is during the match, i was playing el bastardo and at full health this guy was almost killing me by himself in 1-2 hits with daemon. Seriously ban this guy

    I reported him in game but i have a strong feeling that reporting does absolutely nothing so i figured it would be safer to post it here where something might be done about it

    @thetruepilliger Actually you are wrong. You think the only option is to nerf damage or healing all the time which is incorrect. They simply needed to implement my suggestion of diminishing returns

    So the more healers you have the less healing they each do. 2 healers at 60-70% and 3 healers at 40/50% problem solved. This way 1 healer becomes the best option because that healer will still do full healing output.

  • Completely wrong healer nerfs

    I must say I’m very disappointed in and appalled by whoever makes balancing decisions for this game, especially on something so insanely obvious

    Rather than actually addressing the problem, which is that multiple healer comps do too much HEALING, they instead decide to lower supports’ damage like that’s somehow supposed to fix the issue. The two minor nerfs to healing don’t even come close to being sufficient

    These balance changes did basically nothing, in fact i would argue it’s gotten worse because the new hero is a healer so now i am seeing double healer almost every single game. And since the nerfs had close to zero effect on the survivability of this comp now we have to constantly deal with this annoying bullshit.

    I understand this is NT’s first multiplayer game, but did you guys hire any people with experience in balancing pvp? Even an average gamer who is not very good or experienced would be able to tell this is clearly op, yet the people who make the game refuse to make it right.

    And if I’m wrong then the developers should prove it. Show us all the stats for the different comps, the winrates and pickrates and k/d ratios. Show us whether or not teams that switch to double healer in the middle of a game suddenly start doing way better (hint: they do).

    One more thing I’d like to point out, is that even in games where double healer loses, they very likely did much better than they would have otherwise. So a team that should have gotten destroyed might end up only losing by a little simply due to this bullshit comp. That matters too, and it does not show up in the win/loss column.

    The people in charge of balancing this game are failing at it, and the worst part is how simple the solution is. They could fix this problem in a day or two tops with some light testing and it would be done.

    I logged in just now and my daily quest included these two horrors:

    Play 2 matches with zero cool
    Play 2 matches with Makutu

    I closed the game immediately.

    Something else that needs to be fixed is backfilling. To be fair most of my games i get to join from the beginning which is nice and how it should be. Once in awhile ill get backfilled into a game even if i don’t have leaver penalty active

    I’m ok with this as long as:

    1. The game is not more than halfway done. I just got into a game that was power collection and score was 44 to 45. WTF? That game is basically over and i did not have a penalty
    2. The team i get placed on is not getting stomped. Why should i get punished if my penalty is not active and be forced to endure a trash game that is an automatic loss? This only makes me want to leave and incur a penalty when i didn’t have one before

    On the flip side, when leaver penalty is active, the game should make sure I DO NOT get placed into a new match. When I had the penalty before, the game was continuously giving me new games which is not the point at all. The point is “you leave you are forced to backfill”

    It should be guaranteed backfill games every single time, no rewards but it’s over quicker because the games are all in progress.

    A few things i want to add to the list

    1. As many other people have mentioned, matchmaking in this game can be quite horrible. Having extremely low levels on your team who have no idea how to play and getting stomped is the worst thing in the world. These are the only games i ever consider quitting and sometimes i do because it’s just too much they are so trash I can’t take it. I’m wasting my time by staying in these games

    This is a really really basic rule of matchmaking but somehow they mix low and high levels all the time. Now i understand the playerbase is small and that may be why they chose to allow this, but it is a HORRIBLE IDEA and always leads to bad games. Players level 15 and under should only be allowed to play in games with people 15 and under. Only in extreme cases (meaning the wait time for finding a match has exceeded 5 minutes) should this rule be broken.

    It is vastly superior to keep people waiting to find a match rather than throw them in a game that is so egregiously unfair. I would much prefer waiting 3-5 minutes to find a good match as opposed to waiting 1 minute and then getting destroyed because my teammates are a party of 3 noobs who just started playing last week

    1. On the rare occasion that i do get to see the post match screen (when im not kicked from the server), the report button does not work at all. I go to scoreboard click report on a player and nothing happens. This needs to be fixed. I had a teammate go 0 and 7 i wanted to report feeding and now he gets away with it.

    2. I should get a message when someone i reported got punished. That way i know the system is actually working and im not wasting my time. Games like smite and overwatch do this and it helps greatly to know that my reports are producing results.

  • Things that need to be fixed immediately
    1. Framerate- Unfortunately this remains an issue after all this time. It’s mostly ok but never great, and sometimes still really bad

    2. Enemies coming back to life- This is the most annoying thing I have ever encountered in a pvp game, and it’s never happened in any other game that i can think of. On my screen, I kill an enemy, I see them die and I hear the sound that plays when you get a kill.

    AND THEN SUDDENLY HE IS ALIVE AGAIN. (I would like to point out this has nothing to do with zero cools ultimate it is clearly a problem with the game) Absolutely ridiculous bs, it’s happened multiple times, and a bunch of those people have even gotten away from me afterwards which means my kill which already occurred gets negated. I cannot believe this is being allowed to happen and that it hasn’t been fixed yet. This is the kind of stuff that makes people smash their controllers and keyboards and throw everything out the window

    1. Your connection to the server is poor and you may be kicked- I get this message after almost every match i play. I don’t get to see my stats or rewards for these games, it started right after mekko came out and it should have been addressed by now.

    2. Show stats under match history- Related to number 3, if that bug is going to prevent me from seeing my stats right after the game, can you at least show my stats under match history so i can go back and look afterwards? This would be a good feature to have regardless but especially so due to that horrible stupid bug

    3. Make the targeting reticle change color when an enemy is in range- It’s really annoying to have to guess whether or not your shots will hit when you’re playing ranged heroes. I know it says out of range but thats after you wasted time trying to shoot them. Instead, it would be much better UI to just have the reticle turn red when you are within range so you know right away and don’t have to test it constantly. Then turn white again when you’re out of range, really simple and it will work guaranteed

    4. Nerf multiple healers comp- long overdue, really obvious change that they won’t make for some reason

    Ok those are not really “skills” let’s be honest. Yes you do have to make an easy decision and push a button to switch to a new target or lock off but come on

    The amount of skill required there is extremely minimal practically zero when compared to actually having to aim and hit your targets and stay aimed at them manually

    You said it yourself you “would have preferred a more skill based targeting system” and I believe many others would as well

    Yeah, the main point is that the game is as it is when it comes to targeting and we should just accept that since it's such a core mechanic. Trying to get them to change it is probably a waste of energy. Besides, the lock-on system is hardly ruining the game so it's really not a big deal. At least there's Project Stamina in the works and that will satisfy the need for a brawler game like this to have more skill-based targeting. Look it up if you haven't already!

    Yea it could be a waste of energy but on the off chance that they do listen I thought it would be worth it anyways to try and convince them because to me it’s very clear. Imo it is ruining the game so I think it’s a necessary change.

    I am not surprised that most people on here disagree with me because it is safe to assume the people who post on the forums are the most dedicated fans of the game and already enjoy the experience. I’m asking the developers to consider the overall playerbase and the wider audience of people which is the most important thing, especially people who are trying it for the first time or coming back to it to see if it’s improved

    I can guarantee the number one problem they have is player retention. Just look at the numbers on steam, an incredibly large drop in player count to where it’s at currently. I’m sure the story is the same on xbox, as this game is not even in the top FIFTY most played games according to the xbox games store which is a very bad sign for a multiplayer game that only costs 30$ and is on xbox games pass which has over ten million subscribers

    I’m not saying all this to bash the game as i do like many aspects of it, but my point is that they clearly got something major wrong and it’s turning people away, it’s making them not want to play this game. Something is causing the very low player retention rate, and I believe the lack of a real targeting system is the number one issue.

    In fact it’s gotten worse. Pretty much every game I play now ends with this problem and it’s really annoying

    I never get to see my end of match stats anymore and i still have to hope that I’m getting the credits and xp that i should be getting.

The way the characters are balance, I've never felt like I was ever unfairly killed by a ranged character.     So I’m not saying playing ranged characters takes no skill, it just doesn’t take enough because it is missing a crucial component which is manually aiming at your target. The act of locking onto and hitting a target with these fighters takes no skill and is way too easy you literally cannot miss unless you are just out of range

    I don’t see any issue with bullet spraying. If they make this change ranged fighters should still be able to hit only one target like they do now. Which means that if you want to randomly spray into a group you are still only damaging one person at a time so spraying doesn’t pay off because your damage isn’t concentrated and you are spreading it out across multiple targets which means they are all more likely to stay alive than if you had just focused on one target

    I think you need to look up the definition of beg because you clearly don’t know what it means if you are applying it to this situation

    I am suggesting ideas and providing feedback on how i believe they can improve their game. If you call that begging then you have a serious problem with exaggeration or you just don’t know what it means.

    Despite your apparent efforts to try and not come across as pretentious you have managed to do so regardless, which i suppose says something about you.

    Ranged heroes being easily countered has nothing to do with this topic so it’s pointless to even bring it up. I never said ranged heroes are op or that an aiming system should be added in order to adjust their power level

    If that’s what you got out of my post then you have another problem

    @Omid-RG Yea tanks are definitely better in this game than in most others. It is also nice that they do good damage so you don’t just feel like a human shield all the time but can get kills and punish people

    On the topic of two supports being overpowered I completely agree. I mentioned it in my OP briefly but have also made a couple longer posts about it in the past

    I seriously cannot believe they haven’t nerfed double healer by now and the fact that they haven’t is extremely concerning due to how blatant and insanely obvious the issue is.

    Coincidentally, my solution to double healer was exactly the same as what you suggested: diminishing returns. So the more healers you pick the less healing each one does. If you have two healers they each heal for 60-70% of their normal amount

    If you pick 3 healers they only heal for about 40% of normal. This will nerf the double healer meta HARD and will practically ensure that it goes away which will be a very good thing

    A very simple but effective solution is to just limit each team to one healer max. Not as good an option because it restricts player choice but is super easy to implement and would clearly solve the problem. Either way they need to do something about this asap it’s the biggest balance issue in this game by far

    @HottCakeX There’s no way to buy currency in this game with real money and that’s a good thing

    I respect them for not including microtransactions even though it’s pretty much a guaranteed feature in all modern multiplayer games. However I do not respect or like the way they have implemented cosmetics at all.

    There are several issues but the biggest one is the insane cost. The best solution is definitely not for them to add microtransactions but rather for them to simply lower the cost or increase earn rate or both

    They are going to add daily quests which will reward coins. I have a very strong feeling that these quests won’t give even close to enough rewards to bridge the gap based on what has happened up until this point.

    We will see how it turns out but the best thing to do imo is ask them to increase rewards/lower the cost of cosmetics.

    A couple of things I forgot to put in my original post that I thought of. My 7/10 score and feelings about how the game can instantly improve are still the same.

    I like that in this game supports and tanks feel very strong and can easily hold their own.

    A miko and sometimes even kulev can 1v1 most other fighters and at least survive if not get the kill. These two healers are not just fodder to be beaten up and destroyed like healers in overwatch who will basically die to anything

    Tanks are also solid, have great survivability and are not overly dependent on healers to stay alive if they play correctly.

    This ties in with the other positive which is people tend to fill roles in this game. It helps that you only need one of each but there is clearly no doubt that having strong healers and tanks greatly contributes to an increased willingness to play these fighters. Every game you are pretty much guaranteed at least one tank or one support and often I get both without having to fill

    My last few times playing this game I noticed I was wrong when I said framerate issues are gone. They are still there just not nearly as bad as before and not as frequent. But they still do happen and it would be great if this issue could be completely addressed.

  • Daily Quest System

    This is a good idea and something that should make the game better. But there are two really important things when it comes to implementing it in a good way

    1. Each completed quest must reward its own set of coins. Based on the wording in the dev update it seems to me that the current plan is to only award coins after all of the quests have been completed. If this is true then that is NOT a good idea at all

    No other game that I play or can think of does its daily quest system like this they all award currency/xp for each individual quest completed so you feel like you’re getting something for everything that you do.

    Look at paladins, smite, apex, cod (any of them), battlefield, pubg, an obscure game like minion masters etc the list goes on and on they all do it the same way for good reason

    Let’s say the current plan is to give X number of coins after completion of 3 quests, they simply need to divide X by 3 and give out that amount for each one. So the total remains the same but people have the option of only completing one or two and still getting something for their time

    1. The amount of coins rewarded must be astronomical. If there are no plans to further increase end of match rewards or lower the absolutely ridiculous cost of cosmetics, then each one of these daily quests seriously must give at least 1-200 coins minimum. That is the only way to reasonably bridge the gap between this slow earn rate and insanely high cost.

    @ivowns Totally agree with you. The only thing is it can’t be a 1:1 ratio or else that would be really lame. It has to be at least 5:1 if not 10:1

    So for every blue mod part you get at least 5 credits

    @Andre-LMay-BR I’m assuming you mean scylla from smite. The rate at which they put out new fighters may end up being quite slow because this game has no microtransactions and creating content obviously costs money

    On the other hand, it could also be fast if microsoft is giving them a lot of financial support and funding their development budget

  • Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice

    I looked online and couldn’t find any forums dedicated to this game so I thought posting it here would be the best option because hellblade is made by ninja theory

    I have access to this game via xbox games pass and I started it many months ago. But I find it hard to play this game for more than a little at a time. And there was one point i got so annoyed that I stopped for several months without playing it at all

    I am determined to finish this game for some reason but I want to give feedback because I know there will be a sequel and I really hope it will be much better than the original

    There are several aspects that I like about hellblade. The atmosphere is very good, it’s quite different from most other games with it’s focus on mental illness so it’s unique and interesting. Also the graphics are excellent it is probably the best looking game i have on xbox one s.

    The combat is pretty solid, could definitely be better but still enjoyable enough. I would say for the sequel a lot more animations are needed. I was constantly seeing the same stuff and visually there is not enough variety. Also there needs to be a lot more depth, in terms of different moves and attacks.

    God of war and nioh would be great templates to look at in this area. There should be a skill tree that you can upgrade to learn new moves along the way. For example, hold X to do “this” hold Y to do “that”. Tap X while pushing left thumbstick to the left or right to do a spinning dodge attack. While in focus mode rapidly tap X to hit the guy 15 times and beat the crap out of him like in arkham city after stunning someone with batman’s cape. Tons of options for improvement here

    Another form of variety would be to let her use different types of weapons like spear axe etc.

    So anyways when I decided to play this game i wanted very much to like it and enjoy it because I am attracted to games that are unique. But overall i just can’t enjoy hellblade because no matter how hard i try i end up getting frustrated and annoyed. This game has the worst “puzzles” i have ever experienced in a video game. I don’t consider them puzzles but I don’t know what else to call them.

    1. It is incredibly boring to walk around aimlessly looking at random stuff until you find something that matches up with a symbol. I don’t consider this gameplay I consider it artificial time filler that gives zero sense of satisfaction or reward when you finally get it because all you did was find the correct spot to stand in and look at not exactly thrilling or fun

    2. Never in all my years of gaming have i had to rely on youtube walkthroughs so much just to get through a game. These symbols are in such random and weird places sometimes or you have to stand in a certain spot to line it up perfectly it’s just really really annoying and painful.

    I am no stranger to puzzle games in fact I love them. Portal, brothers a tale of two sons, limbo, the turing test, tomb raider. I have played all these and others because I love good puzzle games. And I have no problem looking up the solution to a real puzzle if I gave it an honest attempt and simply couldn’t figure it out but that doesn’t happen very often because I’m good at solving them.

    But in hellblade these are not puzzles and I have to look up what to do constantly, it literally takes no mental ability or thought, it’s just wandering around randomly and getting lucky to find the right spot. I don’t know if the developers even consider these puzzles and I don’t want to assume that they do.

    But whatever they are my point is, for the sequel please have real puzzles in the game. Actual puzzles that need to be solved and require some mental agility. It would make the game so much better.
