No thank you, this game does not need a classic moba mode, and if one was implemented there would have to be a huge amount of changes to characters to make them viable within such a game mode, which could end up ruining the game play of the standard game modes.

RE: Power Cells Strategies Abused
@x-AmberPrice You're right, I apologise, I was rather frustrated with the game and NT in general and used you as a way to vent and take out frustration, so again, my apologies my dude.
As for Daemon, it's quite simple to deal with him, if there's 2 hand in points and he's hoarding cells, then one of your team needs to be at the off point to deal with him. Also his stealth is easy to counter, if you can spot his shimmer then any ranged can knock him out of stealth, if not there are abilities like Bastardo's Empower which automatically deals damage in a globe(?) around him, which will pop Daemon out of stealth. Ultimately, it just takes a bit of thinking and implementing a basic strategy to deal with the Daemon. As a Daemon player myself I don't go for the horde the cells playstyle, as I find it really boring, and am not a fan of carrying a lot of cells, but I do normally shutdown enemy Daemon's that do try this strategy.
Cass on the other hand is way more mobile, sure some cc does shut her down, and again most Cass players just aren't very good with her, with only a handful being able to play her to her full potential, like our good buddy Gunked here. As I have seen multiple times either in match or watching Gunked he's a really slippery player and is hard to lock down or chase to an off point as again Cass is just extremely mobile. But then again, the same arguement does arise for dealing with Cass as it does for Daemon, just need to have someone at the off point to stop her hand in, the problem there though is she can get back to the rest of the team faster than anyone else, and has a hugely impactful ultimate, so even if say a Maeve catches her at an off point, she's just gonna run after the cage drops, IF it hits her, and rejoin the team fight while Maeve is mounting up and will get there later.
As for the Makutu cheese, you need to hard engage him before hand in point comes up, so he doesn't get a chance to cheese hand in on point. Or just horde all the cells yourself, so he becomes even more useless. Personally I don't like Makutu on cells as the only thing he really brings is the hand in cheese, and is easy to deal with before hand in phase.
Also @Gunked on console you cannot see the shadows, but the shimmer is still there, so Daemon is harder to spot for us console plebs

RE: This game needs more aiming/skill requirement
Ok, I gotta ask, as you keep advocating so much for an unnecessary feature. What level are you in Bleeding Edge? Do you play on PC or console? And what's so passive about this game, as it's pretty engaging, sometimes chaotic, and a whole lotta fun.

RE: Power Cells Strategies Abused
TFW no-one mentions the best character for power cells, Cass. But then again, most people who play Cass are awful at her so I guess not many run in to her abusing the hell out of PC

@The-Kron said in This game needs more aiming/skill requirement:
You may find the game passive but those of us who hanker after arcade style games this is the closest thing we've got to a Powerstone style game in twenty years.
Free aim would add absolutely nothing to this other than giving the melee focused characters a huge advantage. The game is wonderfully balanced as it is. It's not trying to be Smite or Overwatch, Let it be it's own thing.
This. Right here. 100% agree. And as someone said before, if you want to have to aim, go play OW

RE: I like the game but the game has some major problems
You can change lock on and auto target settings to camera in the options

RE: The game is gonna die fast without ranked.
@David00011011 said in The game is gonna die fast without ranked.:
My recommendations to the devs is to drop whatever you're doing and put all efforts into giving players a reason to play.
Steamcharts are already showing an average of a meager 104 concurrent players in the last 30 days. This game could be great. But Ninja Theory is going to be out of business before the game gets rolling.
1st off, nah, there needs to be fixes made and some balance changes before ranked, also some more content would be nice.
Also that second bit, the steam numbers, don't show the size of the player base, in fact steam players are a mere fraction. Now, the player base is small and needs to grow, but not THAT small, so keep that in mind

RE: Customize Controls for each Character.
Just a suggestion, I changed my controller layout to auto attack on RT, dodge/parry on LB, and ult on X fairly early on, took a little while to get used to but now feels really comfortable and I find no problems or difficulty in playing Mekko.
I do perfectly understand how hard it can be playing some characters with the default button layout, and can see some difficulty in Mekko with it also. Maybe try my button layout, is fine for me on everyone but Cass, I find her awkward to play, unless I would change layout or use an elite controller and bind jump to one of the extra buttons.
Just for clarity, I changed my layout in the first place so I could have better camera control while attacking

RE: MAEVE addressed once and for all...
@HashtagRaver said in MAEVE addressed once and for all...:
Maeve is one of the only counters we have to dive in this game. The people complaining probably just play Daemon, Nid, Bastardo, etc and are mad they can’t just jump the healer every second. Of course she’s going to be annoying to play against as these people, she’s your counter. If anything, change the way she interacts with non-divers. Make it so the cage only gets a partial refund or no refund on kill. So if she chooses to go for their back line, she won’t have it again to take divers off her team.
As someone with a decent chunk of time with a reasonable w/r and kd on Daemon, I disagree she counters him, in fact he counters her in a way, and I find her easy to deal with. That's not saying she isn't a priority target for me though, in fact her, Gizmo and Zero are my top 3 priorities. But how you all ask? It's simple, really.
Stealth is the only ability in the game that completely denies siphon. Sure, Miko's dome stops the dmg/lifesteal, but Maeve can keep channelling and walk through it, all while keep her super armour. I'm not counting supers here either, just base kits, as that is what you will have for all fights.
So, I'm Daemon, I see and engage on Maeve, I eat the cage, on purpose, and she hits the siphon button. How could I possibly win this, being stuck in this situation? Stealth. The very moment she lands siphon, I hit stealth, she does no damage, has no lifesteal, and no longer has her super armour. Cage drops, I cut her up, she vanishes. Chasing is a guessing game, but can be done, as you can finish her before her siphon comes back off cd, and even if it does she will be so low that she will simply die before sustaining enough through lifesteal.
Even if she knocks you out of stealth after cage, you're still healthy, and the cage is about to drop, allowing you to spin strike her in the face! When she vanishes and dips, a chase is not always the right call, and a smart Maeve will look to go to her team for support, which is probably where you don't want to be. Honestly just pressuring her to vanish is fine, as the cooldown is really long, and if she reappears in the team fight, she is an easy pick for your team to burst down, so feel free to spam ping her until they get the message
If she has damage buff, you either need to match it, have Shadow Strike ready for the 2nd siphon, or simply avoid engaging her alone, as she will beat you if you cannot match the buff or don't have SS ready. Try to save shurikens for after vanish if you are in the situation to chase, as that will help finish her off faster when her vanish is down, and can also be used to dismount her if you catch her trying to mount out of melee range. Although don't be scared to shuriken in the initial engagement, combo cancelling with it is pretty crucial on Daemon imo. If she vanishes without the increased time mod, then it's only 2 seconds, so easy to track her down and finish her if so.
Obviously this isn't going to work 100% of the time, but generally Maeve cannot 1v1 my Daemon, not saying I'm the best out there, but certainly not the worst
Nid I also find can deal with Maeve quite well, just wait for siphon and axe it, don't axe before. Bastardo can stun her siphon, but I feel he isn't as well suited for pressuring her as Daemon or Nid.
Sorry for the long post, just felt like adding my thoughts to the conversation, and ultimately yes she does have a pretty solid kit, but is not overpowered and is in fact pretty easy to force out of a fight. Anyone can actually do it, just to me it seems Daemon is one of the best to, and also I find Nid to deal with her quite well, but has less chase/burst potential. If you aren't running either character in your team, that's fine also, just focus her until Vanish pops, she'll probably be low so looking to run or find her healer, so you just focus another target down, as it should now be 4v3

My initial thoughts of mekko
First off, he's a great character design, and quite fun/funny. As for gameplay though, Lifeline is a brilliant and hilarious ability, love it. Surge is also a pretty damn good ability, giving him mobility no-one in the game has, not even Cass swoop can match it, but the cooldown on hit mod seems rather strong and you can have surge up 100% of the time if you are in a long fight, so probably needs toning down.
And then there's puddle...... While a zone control ability like Kulevs totem isn't a bad idea, puddle itself is too strong. 50% damage reduction is crazy high, coupled with the 20(?)% lifesteal it just gets absurd. The duration mod allows you to have the puddle down 100% of the time, the size mod allows you and your team to fight in a larger area, and the extra lifesteal just makes the sustain inside puddle even more bonkers. All of this coupled with the fact that puddle can only be removed from the map by killing Mekko, makes it a bit obnoxious in my opinion.
I would suggest either a hp system, like totem, so it can be broken by aoe or focus on it, or maybe have it disappear if Mekko leave's it, so people can work around and try to deny him of the area to get rid of it. I do like the puddle, it is an interesting mechanic, just feel it is a bit over tuned, maybe lower the damage reduction and lifesteal it inherantly provides, and give us some sort of counter play to it other than just "murder Mekko".
This based on a day of playing, and a night of watching Mekko be played on stream.

RE: Use to enjoy this game
thats whats gonna happen if you stack, if you wanna have fun, stick to solo queue. Sure it's more chaotic, but it's not stale x comp very game

RE: Mekko...
I'm playing on xbox and have no problem doing what you described, have you thought of changing your controller layout? I did not long after launch and now basic attack is rt, dodge/parry is lb and ult is x for me. Gives me more freedom of camera movement and is also easier for me to lock on and to parry/dodge. Hope this helps ya mate

RE: Bleeding Edge can be as good as...
1. REMOVE THE LOCKING TARGET SYSTEM
That's right. Removing the auto locking will make this game more competitive and will turn it in a skill based game instead a ordinary game.
With manual targeting (as GIGANTIC once was), people will be able to perform double, triple and quad kills relaying only in their skills and it will give us AWESOME clips, feedbacks and satisfaction.
It's pretty frustrating when you try to solo 2 or 3 characters and you can not do that because you got Gizmo locked on you, Buttercup hooking you without a miss or Maeve sucking up your life and caging you without any effort. Especially when you playing with random and you can't expect them to play properly or using a minimum strategy.
GIGANTIC showed us that is possible to make a fair combat between range character and fighters without the auto lock system. How many of us hate to die after make a great kill and got caught by auto aim Butter cup hook without enough HP to fight back or die for a LONG DAMN GUIDED El Bastardo leap (OMG I hate that)?
By the way, did you guys already tried to aim for Kulev's Totem in a middle of a team fight? It is IMPOSSIBLE hahaha (nervous laugh).
ummm, no, the auto lock kinda needs to stay. This game is cross platform, and for balancing reasons between pc and xbone, requires the targeting system to remain as it is, as removing it would give pc players a huge advantage over xbone players. You shouldn't be trying to solo fight multiple enemies, this game is team based and emphasis on that is being at a huge disadvantage 1vx, although I have managed to 1v2 some situations against newer/less skilled players, at equal skill and experience level, those situations should have never been feasible for me to win. Gigantic was decently well made and had some pros about it, but it wasn't cross platform, iirc, and also was generally faster in the fluidity of movement and combat, as well as the maps being much larger than Bleeding Edge offers. If you secure a Kill for your team as a dps, the fight is already in your favour, and hopefully your team can clean up once that hook lands on you, or can help you live through the situation. Bastardo leap without locking on is pretty useless as you only tend to leap a tiny bit in front of you, as you cannot hold the button to aim it. Also Kulev totem, pretty easy to focus in a fight, just sayin.
As for the games "speed", or rather pacing, it seems fine but I do slightly agree that a bit more tempo would be good, maybe give everyone slightly faster base movespeed, but then again if you're not fighting you should probably be mounted, which negates that issue.
Gigantic was a brilliant game, it does suck that it died, BUT a better comparison for BE would be Battleborn in my opinion. They have the same kind of combat style nearly, pacing, feeling when playing, and also both offer an objective control style game mode. Again, it sucks that Battleborn is dying (servers being switched off early next year ) and was poorly handled and marketed, whjile being in the shadow of Overhype and Blizzards seemingly endfless pot of marketing funds.
