I'm gonna go through the effort of logging into my microsoft account to respond to this. The assumption that the community didn't lift a finger, or did nothing is bullshit. There are people on this forum, on reddit, even people in discord who managed to nag tetris enough to get a respond out of him (which was that they were still working on bleeding edge, they just couldn't say anything, and this ended up not being true. they just stopped working on it. maybe a lie or they changed their mind just like that.) There was even a poll on reddit talking about what the developers were doing during the silence, with most of the % basically saying (they are just sitting on their ass.) I actually thought it was rude as fuck, but there was an upheaval. Players have been prodding NT CONSTANTLY to get them to respond and get shit to happen. At the same time, players like misfitbanjax worked their ass off to keep the community together and active, hosting event nights and helping new players. During all of this, NT still said NOTHING. And after they said they were done supporting the game THEY STILL SAID NOTHING. NOTHING BUT SILENCE. Even after all of the criticism.

And there have been people who said things like "guys it takes time, just be patient" and "well I play TF2 and we haven't gotten an update in years with this game that's been out since 2007 =/" People's opinions matter but there were way more people who were frustrated then those who treated the situation with kid gloves.

As I type this, NT will ignore it and you.

I just wanted to say I hope the devs at Ninja Theory are doing okay. I know there has been trouble with the game and players' frustration , as well as the pandemic making things even more difficult. I can imagine it has made parts of your lives very stressful, so I hope you guys can continue to take care of yourselves while working on Bleeding Edge .

Don't defend the bad matchmaking. It's bad, and the devs need to make it better.

@MisfitBanjax Saying "right now you are just making yourself sound like you're not willing to put in any effort" isn't encouraging better play. It's just saying someone isn't doing enough when they are so frustrated with a character that they have to speak their mind about it in the forums. That's awesome that you give many examples on how to counter her. That's important. But saying someone isn't putting in effort is just a tired "git gud" argument. Other points you made are not.

With my ignorance, I don't have problems with her when I fight against her unless I am using Cass, who wipes her off this planet.

Ninja Theory is not a perfect developer nor are their games, or any other developer or their games. (Hate to break it to blizzard or star citizen fans). And you are right matchmaking is not easy. But players aren't gonna cut another player slack because they were on a team filled with people who just started playing. They aren't gonna cut you slack if you are learning a new character and you aren't doing as well as the other players who are using their mains. People won't cut you slack if you are lvl 15 and the enemy team is 60+. Yes that does make a difference. The enemy team won't give a fuck. They just want to kick your ass regardless of your level. Fundamental things like matchmaking will just create player casualties. Players will just get shit on constantly because of things that aren't actually their fault. They will get told "just try harder, go to practice mode." Most people will blame the player and not the developer for how matchmaking is. It isn't fair for the player.

I'll use another example lol. No one cut me slack as an El Dragon player in Battleborn after he got nerfed to the ground to the point where he wasn't useable anymore. This was due to literally 4 or 5 players who were so good with him, they rolled EVERYONE. But we shouldn't expect the dev to balance the game better any time soon because they made other games.

Now, it also isn't fair for the developer to not have more people or resources to make the game better either. In this case I could blame the publisher. I'm not hating on Ninja Theory or saying they suck. I just know that so many other games like this have more then enough players, and matchmaking still gets ignored. For example, tweets of a league of legends dev saying they would improve the matchmaking on higher ranked players, but bronze and silver won't get touched yet. Which is a ranked area that is riddled with smerfs, some of which make youtube videos off of those games.

@ViciousCJB When and If this game gets a lot more people, the devs will need to have their priorities in check when it comes to matchmaking. There are other character team based games out there that have all the players in the world, but the matchmaking still sucks ass because the company cares too much about money they can make off of costumes, or their esports division that needs a new stadium. Devs that would work on better matchmaking end up working on other things instead, or take forever to make it better. I hope Ninja Theory decides they really want to have good matchmaking and they implement it.

Also, if we get more players PLEEEEEEEASE dont smerf lol. And don't troll or be descriminating to the devs or other players. The devs will end up spending more time on toxic people then they would on making the actual game better.

@MisfitBanjax I don't mean to come across as a fucking asshole but telling someone that they just aren't putting in enough effort, and the whole team should constantly deal with this ONE character who can teleport away, when dealing with a character that is oppressive is a very out of touch argument. The game won't get better if we just say "try harder" when someone feels a character is a problem. The game will only get worse. Go look at every other moba and overwatch right now lol. At least have a decent conversation about it. I feel really bad for Cass mains. Even one of the devs said on a live stream that Maeve will MELT Cass. I understand that counter picks and switching your character is something you have to do in a game like bleeding edge, but this hard counter is quite ridiculous. Cass isn't even overpowered to begin with. If Maeve weren't in the game, Cass still wouldn't be overthetop.

And let's just face it. Maeve is a skill based dps that gets reset CDs, a teleport, stealth, a trap, drain, and a giant burst damage attack. We are playing this game to have FUN, and Maeve isn't as fun to play against. At least make her a better character so she is even fun to play against. Just like how we should treat every character. I say this as someone who mains Makutu (who also has issues we need to be honest about) who will eat her ult for breakfast, or shield it for my teammates.
