@lHybr1dl I assume that it's connected to extreme body augmentation. Like, they are so aug fiends they walking on the edge of it and, of course, it's gonna bleed.

They name the game because it is cool name.

Bleeding Edge is a well-known noun that means "something that is technologically most advanced and still not fully tested". The Cutting Edge would be one tier below - something that is state-of-the-art and readily available. So yeah - all the fighters are unique in that people are disgusted and afraid of them, since they are augumented with the most advanced tech - transhumanism ahoy!
